BSA Development
One of the more critical tasks in deploying an AGPS location system is the development of its Base Station Almanac (BSA). It is imperative that the BSA be properly provisioned and continually maintained to realize the full potential of AGPS technology. TechnoCom verifies that the cell data provided by the operator is sufficient, consistent and coherent for BSA use. TechnoCom works closely with the customer and its local market personnel to ensure the integrity and currency of the BSA.
Calibration
TechnoCom has special expertise in performing and managing calibration test activities on the gpsOne platform. TechnoCom’s calibration location transaction tests utilize a proprietary application that decreases the required amount of calibration time, simplifies the test process, while substantially increasing the number of calibration samples and the reliability of the results. The results of the calibration are used to remove parameter errors from the BSA, significantly improving gpsOne system performance and Phase II yield.
Network-Based Location System Modeling, Assessment and Optimization
GSM and TDMA cellular and PCS carriers continue to invest many millions of dollars into deploying their location infrastructures, both for E911 and subsequently for LBS. TechnoCom’s many years of technical expertise in TDOA, AOA, TDOA/AOA, EOTD, RF signal strength/signature, as well as various possible hybrids thereof have been encapsulated into LocatePredict.
TechnoCom’s engineers have successfully used LocatePredict to analyze and optimize deployments in areas as large as individual states with thousands of cell sectors and many hundreds of location sensors. The prediction results, validated by field measurements, have identified very significant savings in deployed location assets, while maintaining high location system performance and meeting regulatory requirements. Detailed training services on the use of LocatePredict (as a purchased product) are also available to TechnoCom’s customers.
